A new liquor license application can be in terms of the following various different liquor licenses:

• a micro-manufacturing liquor license which includes the sale of liquor on and off the premises

• a licence for the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises (restaurant, bar, nightclub etc.)

• a licence for the sale of liquor for consumption off the premises (liquor store), in exceptional circumstances

• a licence for the sale of liquor for consumption both on and off the premises (wine-deli)

• a licence for the sale of liquor for consumption on or off the premises upon during events (events liquor license)

• a temporary liquor licence for the sale of liquor for consumption on or off the premises upon which liquor is sold (temporary liquor license).

All the above liquor licenses require the correct zoning (if not, we can assist with the rezoning) and the right of occupation (title deed/lease). Time frame (s) for the above license’s vary however all of our permanent liquor license time frames are between four to five months.

What are your turnaround times for the approval of your liquor licenses?

Our section 36 Applications can take four to five months for the issued approved license. At the start of the application process, we work tirelessly to ensure client documentation is perfect.

Do you charge all fees upfront?

No, we differ from other consultants and attorneys. We maintain that as our clients are liquor traders in a tight economic situation. We only charge 75% upfront, and the balance of fees is due once licenses are conditionally approved.

Do you do tavern/shebeen liquor licensing?

However, this is a costly exercise as the premises need to be rezoned/departed on the property regarding Town Planning. The positive is that we can ensure we obtain your liquor license and Town Planning approvals with our in-house Town Planner.
